Roman 'Torque' Petrov is a mercenary and former Keystone Initiative asset and operative. He was one of Keystone's most brutal operatives and trained directly under Major Calloway, remaining loyal to Keystone even after Keystone's collapse and Calloway's death. He took it upon himself to track down Keystone assets that escaped or otherwise betrayed Keystone following the initiative's downfall, killing them. The only exception was Hex; the two ended up romantically involved and work together. He also takes jobs from former Keystone contacts.

Torque trained extensively beneath Major Calloway while in the Keystone Initiative, learning to back up his devastating mutant powers with strong technique and skill. He is capable of immense, superhuman strength, and only gets stronger the longer he is engaged in combat. He is an unstoppable close-quarters fighter.
